Unmeetings: Pirating The Unconference Movement

This summer I had the opportunity to participate in three unconferences.  Padcamp, EdcampSTEAM, and EdcampLeadership.  These camps were my first taste of the unconference model.  For a basic definition of an unconference click here.  Each time I attended a camp, I left energized and chock-full of ideas that I wanted to take back with me to my school.  One of these ideas was utilizing the unconference model during staff meetings.  So at Weston School we will be having unmeetings this year!

I am very excited about the prospects of these meetings.  Schools have plenty of staff members that are passionate and great at a specific area of teaching.  Why not use them to host sessions?  The possibility of having true and meaningful professional development from within the staff is amazing!  We already have some ideas ready to go for our first unmeeting:
1. Remind101 and You
2. Google Earth in the Classroom
4. Vodcasting 101
5. Blogging 101
6. Twitter and You

Please take a moment to fill out this survey to help us get more ideas for our unmeetings.  If you are a Weston Staff Member @WestonSchool1, tell us what you want to learn more about.  If you are a non-Pony, we want your ideas too! I hope all your unmeetings this year will be UNbelievable!
